Hey guys - I live down here in Texas...the room where my compy is doesn't get much AC and it gets pretty hot - I had to lower the OC of my vid card to keep it from displaying artifacts, and that's not too cool . I've heard of CPU fans that have an A/C type system that lets them pump out cooler air - is there anything like that that could help cool my system??? (keep the laughter to a minimum, tom)

when it's real warm at around 5pm sys temps are about 40-43C at idle - I try not to do anything hardcore with it when it's that hot:). Comps definately don't like hot texas summers. I have an Aspire X-dreamer II case with 80mm Coolermaster LED fans (2x in front, 2x in back, 1 on side window)..... don't have one on the top vent because I have a PSU with 2 fans set up to blow straight through and the internal one doesn't let me fit in another case fan - I figure teh 2 PSU fans would have the same effect....

Im with you bro on the summer heat down here Texas (YALL)

With the card being pushed close to the limit it doesnt take much change in temp to upset the card. May just have to grit your teeth and back down a few notches with the o/c. I know its hard to give a lil after gaining so much but look on the bright side. Summer here in Texas only seems to last for like
10 months out of the year.

I'm sure there is enough apce in the top of the case to install a blowhole exhaust.

What is the room temperature when the case temp is 40-43?

it depends on the psu. I know when I installed a vantec 520 in that brand case I had to make an adapter to fit a 60mm fan there rather than the 80 that was supposed to reside there

I have an A-power 500watt - maybe I could fit a 60mm up there somehow........

nathan - I'll check the room temp today and get back to you on that - I'd venture to guess it would be around 85F+...it's real stuffy, hardly any air to move around..... It's not ard to imagine WHY it gets hot, but it's still a bummer when I can't mess with it

What I did for the adapter was use a square piece of lexan a little larger than a 80mm fan and bored a hole for the 60mm in the center of it. then you just have to drill the holes for the mounting of the fan and the adapter as well.

Since I am not using that case any longer I might be convinced to send you the one I made.

Can you open a window and get some airflow?

Some air circulation would help.
