Hi everyone

i need some help configuring outlook express at work. We have a dial up connection on one computer that we are sharing over 10 computers. everyone does their browsing and emails through this connection.

the problem is it takes us forever to receive large emails. what makes things worse is that our department has one email address, so when we receive an email we download it through the internet connection 10 times to get it on everyones outlook express. this means if we get a 5MB email, we will have to download 50MB though our dial up connection.

unfortunately broadband is out of the questions as the one and only local ISP (Q-tel) here will charge us $10,000USD per month for a 1MB/S connection (corporate rate). we are currently paying $500USD/month for our 56k connection.
making different emails for everyone is also not an option. we all need to view these emails, and our local provider doesnt will only provide additional emails with a broadband connection. but enough of my rant.

all our computers are connected on the office network which is connected through firewire, and needless to say this is much faster than our dial up connection.

what i want to do is have 1 computer use outlook express to download emails from the internet. Then have the other 9 computers use outlook express to download emails from the first computers inbox through our office network.
This also has to work for sending messages in outlook express; so that we send from any computer to the first ones outbox through the office network, then that computer sends the message over the internet connection.

its easy enough to make it so that only one of our computers downloads emails through our dial up connection. but how can i configure outlook express on the other 9 computers so that they will download emails from the 1st computers inbox through our office network.

thanks for your help

This is a pretty advanced question you are asking.

Even I don't know where to start.

Most guys here use a standard connection or a small network.

it'll probably take some playing around, but maybe one person can download the emails and forward them to the other computers? you probably have to have a server for this or something.
