Hey,
How's life out there?

I've tried to live with my program screens re-sizing itself to different sizes all the time, but it just annoys me too much.

Both problems seem to be related. The first is that when I open a program (examples: Internet Explorer, notepad, folders), it is at sizes where either it is too small or too large, so I have to maximize them myself. The second is that when I open any program, it is placed at some part of my screen where I do not want it to be (example: only right half of my notepad file is visible, as the left half is off the screen), so I have to maximize the screen to get it to fit nicely.

Is there a way to make all my programs open up as maximized screens? Or what can I do to prevent them from changing sizes and positions?

Thanks,
-=Victor

After trying four different methods that do not work at all, I finally figured out a way. Unfortunately, it is with the use of a program.

Usually, I hate running background programs because it may slow down my computer, but hey, this program is a rather small one, and it makes the IE-doesn't-want-to-open-maximized program not annoying.

Hey bud, sorry I didn't get to this sooner...

There's actually a couple fixes you can try which have worked for me (I had the same problems as you).

First of all, what do you use to open up these programs? For instance, with IE do you click on the quick launch icon, desktop shortcut, start menu, or what?

Here's the 1st fix you can try (I'll use the IE icon in the quick launch tray as an example):

1) Right-click on the shortcut you use to open the program, select Properties

2) Select the Shortcut tab, look where it says Run and select Maximized from the drop down menu, then hit OK.

Now, from now on IE (or whatever program) will open in a maximized window.
If that doesn't work, then try this:

1) Open the program and manually resize it to cover the whole screen

2) Then go to File, Close or Exit (depending on the program).

Now the program should open up in a decent sized window.

Let me know if that helps :)
