|
|
I just purchased the Antec Performance One P-160 yesterday for the much needed HDD space. One of the nicest features of this case is the use of 120mm fans for intake and exhaust.
Another benefit for me is the space above the psu. In this space I have been able to mount the radiator there. The only downside to this is the need to install the fans on the exterior of the case. Now I just have to come up with some idea of how to dress this area up. But before I decide on the final method I have to wait for my SilenX fans to arrive.
This should be a good project in cooling. One front intake blowing over the HDD's. Two top exhaust fans pulling air thru the radiator. And the read fan is the question, should it be an intake or an exhaust? Or should I switch the top fans to intake and then have the rear as an exhaust?
I will post pics of what I am talking about tonight. _________________ I tweaked and it tweaked back! So I Tweaked some more!

i wuld recommend leaving the top as a blow hole .....since heat rises its nice to have an escape up there, instead of it all poooling near your radiator......sweet case though......i was debating that one for a while....=] _________________

OK here are the pics as promised. I havent had a chance to prime the water cooling system yet and I am waiting to fire it up until I get my new 36 gig raptor. The other one I had is D.O.A. But that is a story for another post.
Here you can see the radiator tucked above the psu nicely with about 16mm of clearance between the two. And yes that is "King of the Hill" in the background.
These Panaflows are just waiting to lose their home to some quiet SilenX fans.
Over all system pic. As you can see there is plenty of room for further HDD expansion.
Now the big question is what to do to hide the outer fans? _________________ I tweaked and it tweaked back! So I Tweaked some more!

You most defently need to mod some type of cover to go over those fans. _________________ Abit Max3, Intel2.4@ 3.42, 9800pro 460core/380mem., 2 Raptors raid0 |

mmmm, only if Luanne was a real person (like Brittany Murphy).
either some grills or some type of new placement for those fans and the rad would make for better overall appearance. _________________ JayDubya aka JW Jay JD ^> ﺵ |

I was thinking about fabricating an aluminum cover for the fans to blend it into the top of the case. But that will have to wait till I get the other fans. Add that to the fact that I havent fully decided what I am going to do with further mods to the case. _________________ I tweaked and it tweaked back! So I Tweaked some more!
