has anyone tried the "unlock" of an AMD chip by using the MOBO mod instead of trying to use the bridges?
I am wondering if it werks with all socket A boards, or only a few.

well, I read a very nice article a week ago on unlocking the XP by means other than shorting the bridges...now I'll be damned if I can find the original article...but this one comes close.

the only real difference is that instead of performing this on the CPU itself...the article I read, demonstrated how short the same pins on the bottom side of the socket on the MOBO.
