It took me a while to get around posting this stuff up....what can i say...im lazy.......and nopics either....but ill post some soon....not like any of this is nice to look at either.....lol
here goes:
I have a pioneer 9200 head unit
piece of crap california somethin' 240watt two channel amp, powering MBquart 5 1/4" competition series component sets in the front doors. Two pioneer 3ways mounted on the seatbelt rails facing forward.
Polk audio dbx9 series 3 way 6x9's in the rear.
and now for subs.....
800watt 2-channel logic powering my DVC 1000w 15" visonik in a sealed box
and a 400watt kicker powering my rockford fosgate punch 10" in a bandpass.
one of the old AWESOME rockford's...not the new ones......
OH yeah......it bumps and all......but CLARITY is more important......=]

Nice, for clarity you should try a sealed box with a 10.
You will get better bass clarity and a wider frequency response. _________________ Owner & Administrator

well....what i like about the band pass is i still get that live bass drum punchy sound......and the crossover between the 10 and the 15 kicks that visonik for the low rumble and thump.......if a live bass drum doesnt sound like a drum i freak out.....=]
crossovers make alllll the diference.....thanks nate _________________

hehe, you like your new rockford huh Sally?
sounds like the nicest ford escort i have ever seen!!
one question . . . how in the blue hell do you expect to put a 289 in that thing?!?
you gotta convert it to rear drive (go for a ford 9" rear end if you can find it - they kick ass) you'll also need to make room in that ever so tiny engine compartment.
by all means, DO IT. its been a while since i've been able to do anything that fun and i would like to see it be done to an escort!
p.s. the sound system is kickin too! _________________ JayDubya aka JW Jay JD ^> ﺵ |

weeeeeelll.....sally there is nothing WRONG prese with the new rockfords......=]
i'm just not a fan of the KIND of sound they put out......i cant have my system push too much air...i want more sound and volume than air......the less the cone moves less air moves and therefore CLEANER sound in my experience.......just an opinion.......=]
as for the 289....oh yes....i need to convert it.....im in the market for an '81-'86 mustang rear, and 5 speed gearbox.......as for the hood and its lack of room.....its not that bad.....surprisingly i ahve quite a bit of room and i wont need to do TOO many mods.....cuts a little away from the fenders for the headers, scoop the hood for the carb, and move the motor mounts, but its really the frame i worry about,....with a weight a little over 1600 (including me) keeping the car on the road is my big concern.....=]
and thanks for the good words....but its far from nice......actually the body and interior look like hell...lol......appearance wasnt really my concern......and plus....the body is so dammed thin on the '91 escort pony Gen2, no matter WHAT i do its gunna dent.....=]
i'll let you guys know how things are going....=] _________________
