|

Nathan suggested I post my question to him on the forum so here goes. I read his very favorable review of Crucial PC2700 memory (my preferred vendor) just as I was making a decision as to what memory to buy to go on the ASUS A7N8X Deluxe MoBo. I am not an overclocker but see no reason not to get the best performance out of the memory. His review stated that CAS 2 was very stable. Now that I have assembled the machine and looked at the BIOS settings it is obvious I need some advice as to how to configure the various settings as I am a complete neophyte in this area. Any advice/recommendations for the memory timing settings for my MoBo would be appreciated. _________________ Stephen M Beckett |

DMW,
They are using Phoenix/Award (Phoenix bought Award a while back). _________________ Stephen M Beckett |

Assuming that you bought the deluxe version to make use of the dual channel feature, then you have two sticks right?
You will see comments like:
"In DDR mode with one stick of 512Mb memory it scored a 12384, whereas with 2 sticks of memory in DCDDR mode it scored a 12727, a boost of 343 marks running at 133/266 DCDDR. "
Here are a few pix of the bios...these are pretty much standard settings that require little experience. (non-deluxe bios but should be the same)
Lastly just use Google to do a search for "A7N8X DELUXE Tweaks"
that is how I found this page

DMW,
Thanks for the reply and the info. Yes, I have two sticks of RAM installed for dual channel performance. Those pictures are great; really helpful to have them as a guide! And I never thought to use Google to search for specific tweaks. Thanks for that idea. You have been very helpful and I appreciate it very much.
