im not sure if this could be considered a tweak or a tip,
but there alot of bogus downloading softwares out there and all i know is from experience DAP works the best, its quite easy to cap any download at 255kb/s

*hint* after downloading go into the options set your internet connection to LAN10MB and then on the same tab put speed up to the highest (think its super accelerated)*hint*
and another program ive found useful (when i had 512 MB of ram  )was RamBooster, im not sure how it works but you can designate how much ram you would like free and it tries its best to free up that much ram for ya.
its good to use right after you shut down all programs to free up ram for a game your playing
on download.com it has 4200+ votes at 92% happy (2.7 million downloads)

P.S. use this virus checking program its not only free but is way better and easier to use than norton and McAfee (spelling  )
download the free version its jsut as good as the retail

another perc of download accelerator is that you can resume downloads. very nice on those 579MB patches and map packs for bf1942. otherwise it would take 35 min to start it and get it all over again

yeah, DAP is excellent, certainly one of the best download progs out there.
Either that or GetRight!

this doesnt seem to work on 56k, but i also have the demo version, so i dont no which reason it is.

DAP is a great program, especially when ur location doesnt support more than instable 56K.... 
But how did u get the super accelerated options to work on the demo version?
