Phantom game console to compete w/XBox,PS2,GC

Just heard about this from the boys over at Hexus.net...apparently there's a brave new soul that wants to join in the gaming console wars: currently XBox, PS2, and Gamecube. Infinium (unknown to me until today) has come up with a console that combines several different aspects of how gaming can be approached into one console and will be officially announcing it next month. Here are some details on the Phantom:

- The ability to demo a game before purchasing it

- The opportunity to play Games on Demand

- The ability to Pay Per Play or Rent a game

- The peace of mind to have Parental Controls so only adults can access games with mature content

- Choices of Over 50,000 Games

- Choices of Over 5,000 Multi-Player Games

- The ability of Cross Platform Gaming, that is, Phantom Players versus PC players

I wouldn't be surprised if the Phantom's fresh take on console gaming hits a niche market and explodes early 2004...then again it could bomb.

The Phantom is gonig to be crap! There is no way that Infinium.labs are going to beat or out sell the Xbox or PS2. Sony is the biggest company in Japan. And Microsoft are the Biggest company in the world. Plus there is no way that Infinium.labs have billions of $s to support
the new games console. And why do Infinium.labs think they know how to make good games, they make PC networking not computergames. The Phantom will fail just like SEGA.

I wonder....One of my very good friends was telling me about a gaming console that might be coming out and will play PS1, PS2, and GameCube games. Companies of Sony and Nintendo are going to share the wealth. I wonder if this it. Phantom Infinium. Because the choices of 50,000 games already and it isn't even out yet? I bet this is what he was talking about. He gets all his information from a local store where he lives. The store is nothing BUT gaming and anime information. So who knows. This friend does not lie to anyone! Espeically me.

I think that the Phantom is kind of lame. All 3 current consoles have great things going for them and theres not much of a chance the Phantom has the power to change that.

1) PS2 is top seller.
2) GameCube has quality games and a legacy.
3) Xbox is a powerful (specs) system.

Anyway, and also about that thing whoever talked about PS2 and Gamecube sharing their exclusive games...ain't gonna happen! It's already been said that Nintendo is not letting any other company have Mario or Zelda, and I don't think Sony would do that either. That's just stupid. Who told you that?!?
