i would like to paint my drives to match my new up comming case... i was goin to paint them red... my concern is do i need to paint them when the drive is open so they dont stick close? does anyone got any links on painting tips or mod tips.

remove the drives face plates (eject, pull off, and then pull off front cover, spray paint away, file down the inside of any holes, and file the sides of the buttons after painting to avoid stickage.... another option is to tape all the inside edges, and around the buttons and then paint. Otherwise you get sticky buttons

There is also dye you can use instead of paint.

I have never heard of Ink for colouring your computer!

I guess it would not be as thick as paint, thus keeping all of the detail and functionality while changing the colour. Very smart!

I bought a silver floppy and silver dvd-rw.. you just have to find them. I know tigerdirect has colored components.. i bought my floppy there...

Well I went to a computer shop and the guy that owns the computer shop told me that someone went to a car paint shop and asked if someoene could paint his cd-rom red and they did it for no charge.

just painted my monitor a glossy black to match my sonata...
piece of cake... just got some spraypaint from a local department store, and dismantled the screen and painted away...
