I have my operating system installed on twin raptors in a raid0 array. When opening the xp recovery console I only get the choice to access the "c" drive and not "e" where the operating system is. Any ideas on accessing drive "e"?
Thanks.

yes, how many hdd's do you have total?
if you have a raid array it will see two identical drives as one drive. _________________ JayDubya aka JW Jay JD ^> ﺵ |

I'm not exactly sure what you're asking but like I stated in my original post, drive "e" is the two WD raptor HD's in a raid0 array. It is the location of the OS. I need to access drive "e" (where windows xp is located) in order to attempt a repair.
Thanks for the response.

My "c" drive is a 120GB HD and my "e" drive is the raptors. In the recovery console it only shows a "c" drive.
Thanks.

When you start with XP install disk you need to hit F6 when asked to. You should have your raid driver on a floppy if im correct. XP needs this driver before it can read your raid array. _________________ Abit Max3, Intel2.4@ 3.42, 9800pro 460core/380mem., 2 Raptors raid0 |

Isn't that just for the installation?

^^^what he said.
the windows instal sequence will ask you to hit a key (?f6?) to set up a raid array. _________________ JayDubya aka JW Jay JD ^> ﺵ |

No, the XP install disk does'nt have the driver for the array. So its not able to read the "e" drive. After it recieves it from your floppy the same as if you where installing windows you should have a "e" drive to choose from under your repair options. _________________ Abit Max3, Intel2.4@ 3.42, 9800pro 460core/380mem., 2 Raptors raid0 |

That is what I did to install the raid originally. I'm trying to repair this installation. The raid array doesn't show as an option in the recovery console (or in the BIOS, or as a choice when I hit F8 and try to enter safe mode for that matter).

Just pretend that you are installing windows, load the raid driver the same as you did while installing windows. But when you get to the install or repair option choose repair and it will give you the option to choose the "e" drive to repair. _________________ Abit Max3, Intel2.4@ 3.42, 9800pro 460core/380mem., 2 Raptors raid0 |
