Thermaltake's element series has grown from just a few cases to an entire line with cases of all sizes and shapes. I recently had a chance to look at the Element T. Even though it had its strengths, I did have a list of complaints and issues. That brings us to the Element G; another mid tower design from the Element line. Let's take a look. |

The original Megahalems have been on the market for some time but today we will be take a look at the Rev B of the cooler. There are a few minor difference that set the first cooler apart from the second. One would be the shiny stain-less top fin and the addition of socket 1156 mounting hardware. The tower style cooler when looked at a glance would remind you of a typical tower cooler. But the center divide which is a narrow lane of open space is how it differs from the masses. Honestly, I am to anxious to get into the testing phase of this cooler just to see how well it really performs. |
OCZ Platinum DDR3-1333 4GB Dual Channel Memory Kit Review @ ThinkComputers.org |
Posted by Nathan @ 2:29 PM (EST) |
“The standard for DDR3 memory is still 1.5v, but most high performance memory has voltages far above that. Many earlier high performance DDR3 modules had a Vdimm of 1.9v-2.1v. It still amazes me that the memory manufacturers were able to make DDR3 memory run at DDR3-2000 and higher at 1.65v. Today I will be looking at yet another low voltage dual channel kit, this one by OCZ, their Platinum DDR3-1333 4GB kit. It runs with timings of 7-7-7-20, at Intel’s required 1.65v. And of course these modules sport OCZ’s shiny platinum heatspreaders. Will this memory take my i7/P55 to victory? Read on t o see!" |

The Lian Li PC-B26FB stuffs the high quality interior we have come to expect into an edgy and fairly elaborate exterior. Along the clean lines and top cover with two additional fans, you get a large, blue ring of light in the front. The CaseKing KingMod Edition adds sound insulation material to the chassis to drown out some of the noise the PC makes. |

Want to purchase a Radeon HD 5870, but can't find one in stock? One alternative to consider is instead purchasing two Radeon HD 5770's to take advantage of CrossFireX. Not only does this solution save you up to $80 at current pricing, but it proved in our results to offer even better performance in select titles, such as with Modern Warfare 2. |
AMD Phenom II 965 X4 Black Edition C3 Processor Review @ OCIA.net |
Posted by Nathan @ 2:28 PM (EST) |
"Although AMD has had some exciting new mid- and entry-level chips come to market in the last several months, their top of the line Phenom II series has not seen much action since the beginning of the year. But since we won't see AMD's new six-core desktop Thuban processor emerge until next year, what we have to feed off of in the meantime is a new Phenom II core revision, the C3. Beginning with the highest-clocked chip, the 965 BE, the new core will begin to filter down through the rest of the lineup through next year. Enhancements to the core are expected to lower voltage requirements and thus reduce operating temperature, which can potentially lead to better, more stable overclocks. Is it worth the upgrade expense for a current Phenom II owner to make the change to the new revision though? Join me as I aim to find out!" |

"The ASUS Xonar HDAV 1.3 Slim is an impressive piece of hardware. The software bundle is top notch with the inclusion of Total Media Theater 3, one my favorite media applications. I honestly was expecting some frustration from either the drivers or HDMI handshakes, but I am very happy to say that everything worked perfectly. For our article, we used Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit. ASUS has done a great job on their drivers and the customization on Total Media Theater 3 and I have to say it was quite a relief that it all worked so well out of the box..." |

“This time, in our test lab arrived Sapphire HD 5750 graphics card with custom cooling system already seen on several Vapor-X models. This cooling system is based on Vapor Chamber Technology that, basically, functions similar to heat pipe cooling systems. It consists of one “large” chamber with coolant liquid that evaporates when heated by, in this case, GPU, which is in direct contact with bottom chamber surface. The rest of the cooling system is consisted of slim metal fins and one fan. This solution is much better solution than referent ATI solution used on referent models. Vapor-X on Sapphire HD 5750 was almost silent during all our tests and never got over 55 degrees Celsius, which is great result. In closed enclosures, this temperature can go up to 65 degrees Celsius, but even that is great result…” |

"A mixed bag in the electrical performance stakes. The DC regulation is exceptional with the 12V rail only dropping 20mV when taken from 0 to over 80 amps! Efficiency and power factor levels are very good but not quite up to the claimed 80 Plus certification following the OCC testing methodology. I will mention at this stage the claimed 80 Plus and Nvidia SLI Ready certification of which I can find no evidence, at the time of writing this review, on the 80 Plus Org or Nvidia websites." |

"The product I’ve got today is called the i-Tech SIMDrive and it looks like a small USB flash but it has a slot on it for your sim card to be inserted into. On the drive itself is software to allows you to access, edit, backup and even export your contacts from the sim card. You do all this from your computer so it makes the whole process much easier. It’s inexpensive, and in my opinion well worth it to be able to easily access and backup your contacts. " |

Gigabyte has gone P55 platform wide with USB 3.0 and SATA 3. Almost every board they offer with the LGA 1156 socket has a version available with SATA 3 and USB 3.0 built in. While SATA 3 and USB 3.0 isn't designed into the P55 chipset Gigabyte has found a solution to include it in this generations boards that will help mainstream SATA 3 and USB 3.0 faster. |

When the Seagate Barracuda XT was revealed as the World's first-ever third generation SATA 6GBps hard drive, expectations for performance were raised to match the new bandwidth limit. While this drive offered tremendous storage capacity paired to good performance, the transfer speeds were nowhere near the second generation SATA 3GBps limit. This is where Benchmark Reviews turns to our vast collection of Solid State Drive storage products, some of which eclipse the SATA-II range. However, our history of SSD performance tests on the Intel ICH10 Southbridge would prove to be very different than our results on the new Marvell 88SE9123 or 88SE9128 SATA-III chips. In this article, Benchmark Reviews compares Marvell SATA 6G SSD performance against tests on the Intel ICH10 chipset. |

There are so many laptop coolers on the market that we really can't keep track of them. All of them have some sort of cooling mechanism by the way of fans, but they all differ greatly in different respects. Some are quiet, some are metal, some have speakers, some offer additional storage, but I have never encountered the "one cooler to rule them all". |

" I know the SSD is faster than the HDD, but what I didn’t really know was how it affected the system performance overall, so being a reviewer I ran tests, lots of tests, to find the answer. I ran storage specific tests, I ran overall system tests and separate tests as well and I found the obvious that the SSD is faster. I also found the not so obvious as well that at the system level the performance seemed lower with the SSD installed. So continue on to see the results of the testing and you can make your own conclusions." |
