Palit Geforce 8800GT Super+ 1GB Videocard Review @ PCSTATS.com

Posted by Nathan @ 4:49 AM (EST)

"Palit have taken a slightly different approach with this GeForce 8800GT-class videocard. Rather than pre-overclock the GPU and memory, it's added an extra 512MB of onboard videocard memory, bumping the total to 1GB GDDR3. The Palit 8800GT Super+ 1GB ships with its GPU running at 600 MHz and memory clocked at 900 MHz. The shader runs at the stock 1500MHz speed. For the gamers looking for a little DirectX10 action in Windows Vista, the Palit 8800GT Super+ 1GB supports SM4.0, 16x antialiasing, 128-bit HDR, nVidia quantum effects physics processing, PureVideo HD, OpenGL 2 and all the other eye candy you'd expect."

Digit-Life Review: NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT/GTS Roundup

Posted by Nathan @ 4:48 AM (EST)

"Since 8800 GTS 512MB has the same number of shader processors as 8800 GTX, but operates at higher frequencies, its performance may come close to that of 8800 Ultra. So, it will be very interesting to examine these new products. Some of them have very original design and coolers."

Noctua NH-U12P Heatpipe CPU Cooler Review @ Bigbruin.com

Posted by Nathan @ 4:47 AM (EST)

The cooling performance of the Noctua NH-U12P Heatpipe CPU Cooler is exceptional. With the fan at full speed it produces minimal noise and provides excellent thermal results, and cutting the fan speed down to near silence doesn't impact the cooling at all. Even though the performance was exceptional, achieving it took more effort than I am used to needing in order to install a CPU cooler.

VIA EPIA-SN1800 Review @ ASE Labs

Posted by Nathan @ 4:46 AM (EST)

" The EPIA series from VIA has really come a long way since its initial inception years ago. When the series was first released, it was a unique formfactor. The problem is that it was slow and the expandability was not there. Fast forward a few years and the later designs are nothing like what it was. You get speed and expandability in a great size. If Windows is your thing, this board is Vista certified. "

Asrock 4Core1600P35-WiFi+ 775 Socket Motherboard @ Pro-Clockers

But what if you want a great overclocking experience at a price closer to home? A price that won’t equal that of mid range Mercedes Benz monthly payment. What if you only could scrap up the funds to obtain a Intel Dual Core 2200 or 6420? GIGABYTE GeForce 8800GT TurboForce Review @ Tweaktown

Posted by Nathan @ 4:44 AM (EST)

"GIGABYTE graphics cards seem to be few and far between these days because they like to do things a bit differently. We’re all for standing out from the pack, and the latest card from GIGABYTE to jump into that category would be the TurboForce Edition of the 8800GT.

The Zalman cooler that they use isn’t anything new, we’ve seen it used on the HD 3870 that GIGABYTE released a few months back. With that said though, it really is a tried and tested cooler that seems to be extremely efficient. The copper in the middle of the cooler helps move the heat and the aluminum fins help the heat dissipate quickly."

XFX nForce 630i / GeForce 7150 Review @ Motherboards.org

Posted by Nathan @ 4:50 PM (EST)

XFX did a wonderful job with their nForce 630i and GeForce 7150 solution. The board has plenty of the features that you need to run the latest Intel CPUs and has integrated graphics that perform well for the Home Theater PC market. With a price point of $79, the board fits well into the mainstream Intel motherboard market The announcement of the 8200 integrated graphics chipset for the AMD Athlon market brings true DX10 hardware to NVIDIA motherboard chipsets but the corresponding Intel chipset has not been announced as of yet. To get excellent gaming performance the only real solution on the Intel platform is to buy a discrete graphics card and upgrade.

Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 Review @ OCC

Posted by Nathan @ 4:49 PM (EST)

"Overclocking this chip has been a pure pleasure. When paired with the X38 chipset, the potential could be far out there with the correct cooling setup. I started at 400 x 9 and 1.35v and the system booted so flawlessly that I knew that it was thirsty for more. So I jumped the multiplier to 9.5 and kept raising the FSB by 15MHz while keeping the voltage the same until it would not boot. Then I upped the voltage and started again. In the end I was able to push the Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 chip to 4.322GHz before the temps got high enough to make me not want to take the chance. I ended up with the E8500 at 455FSB x 9.5 multiplier for the speed I obtained with a voltage increase to 1.45v. At 4.322GHz I was able to complete SuperPI, Orthos Prime and all of the benchmarks with no problems at all."

Apevia X-Supra 'G' Type Case Review @ OverclockerCafe

We have found a number of very practical and well constructed features making installation and maintenance a breeze. Excellent ventilation is always nice but it is nicer still with the two included 120mm case fans operating at a near silent level at full speed. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder though. The Apevia X-Supra has clean lines with enough flair to make it sporty cool without becoming gaudy.

"Today for review I've got the Ultra M998 Mid-Tower ATX PC Case and it just might be one of those cases that offers most if not all of the things we want to see in a quality case. The M998 is named after the tough and rugged M998 HMMWV military vehicle or more commonly know as the Hummvee, the case isn't quite military standard issue but it does have some resemblance to military stylings on the outside with user friendly features inside and out as well. Tuniq TX-2 Thermal Compound Review @ Virtual-Hideout

Posted by Nathan @ 4:07 PM (EST)

“As far as thermal grease goes, the Tuniq TX-2 is at the top of the list as it has an advantage over its competitors. That advantage is the way it spreads out over the processor. Some thermal compounds spread out like cold butter and get all clumped up, but the Tuniq TX-2 spreads out smooth like peanut butter and doesn't clump up at all. One small ribbon of paste will spread out evenly and easily over the processor.”
