The Redline Tri-Channel Kit from Mushkin manages 1600 MHz at CL6-7-6-18 right out of the box, making it one of the fastest kits at this speed on the market. We push the kit way past the red line for you in this review, reaching well over 2000 MHz with more relaxed timings. |

"Many reviewers and interested users said that it made no sense to upgrade from DDR2 to DDR3. So it must be really hard for the new memory type to justify its existence, even if there are some technical prerequisites for it already. We decided to publish a thorough analysis of the situation." |

A couple of decent fans to push the air through is more than sufficient on most systems. Some of us, however, require much more to keep things cool while we put our computers through the gauntlet. The only problem is that many motherboards only have one or two places to plug your typical 3-prong fan. Three at most. And then you are limited to a single speed or whatever the motherboard decides is best. YOU control the computer, not the other way around. That's where the NZXT Sentry LX comes in. Time to show your computer who the biatch really is. |

Today we will have a look at a PSU from their latest high performance series, the Toughpower XT 850W. Thermaltake designed the Toughpower XT series with enthusiasts in mind and the result is a very interesting product with a massive 12V line and a very long range of features. That said, the power output and retail price pit it against the very best products currently available. We will soon see if it has what it takes to compete with the rest of the products of its class. |
NXZT Panzerbox Aluminum Mid Tower PC Case Review @ Legit Reviews |

"Over the years as PC components have gotten faster, they have also gotten hotter. These days, nearly every component generates some sort of heat and has gotten to the point where air may no longer alleviate some of it as airflow is sometimes restricted in some form. Enter the NZXT Panzerbox. With 190mm fans in a meshed front and on the meshed top with a 120mm at the rear boasting over 300 CFM of airflow, along with an option to install a dual 120mm Radiator inside, the Panzerbox is armed to combat the heat generated by your PC..." |
Water Cooling vs Thermoelectric: CoolIT Freezone Elite @ PureOverclock |

"There's nothing quite like a good H20 vs TEC debate to get the blood pumping and bring out the passion in enthusiasts. Well, today we've decided to tackle that debate head-on. We're going to pit one of the pre-eminent thermoelectric cooling solutions, the CoolIT Freezone Elite, straight up against a custom water cooling kit, both on a juiced-up Quad Core CPU." |

Cooler Master has been quite busy lately with all these new cases. So far, three new mid tower cases have been released, the Sniper, Scout, and now the HAF 922. The HAF 922 is the little brother of the HAF 932. The HAF series has been specifically designed to include large fans to keep noise down, but still move a ton of air. The HAF 932 certainly did not disappoint in that regard. One can certainly say that the Cooler Master HAF 932 is one of the best cases for moving air without being a blow dryer. Cooler Master has set the bar high from the start. The HAF 922 has to prove it can move a ton of air while still being very compact. |

"The noise level is very low for all soundcards, but the lead is taken by the Xonar cards, the Essence STX beating the rest of the pack. This trend continues until we get to Stereo Crosstalk, where the modded X-Fi XtremeMusic has better stereo separation from about 2 kHz upwards. In the 24-bit, 96 kHz tests, the modded X-Fi XtremeMusic has a strange rolloff at the audible frequency extremes, whereas the Xonar Essence STX has a much truer, flatter response. Again, the Stereo Crosstalk is the only test where the modded X-Fi beats the Essence STX, and it's only at frequencies above ~2 kHz." |

Despite the fact that the case arrived damaged during shipping, I completed the review on a positive note. The case offers excellent cooling with up to 7 fans on a mid-tower case. Cooler Master has taken nearly everything into account with the HAF 922 Mid Tower case including water cooling, long video cards, proper wire management and a really interesting look. The case had plenty of room to work with and a hole for the CPU mounting bracket, allowing for removal of the CPU without removing the motherboard. Cooler Master has a Hot Product with this case due to all of these factors with the only negative being short feet. |

The breakneck pace of product development for graphics cards doesn't always generate bigger, faster, more powerful chips and cards. Sometimes a new product gets developed and introduced to the market that isn't a barn burner. Such is the case with this GTX260-based video card, the ASUS ENGTX260 Matrix. That doesn't mean it isn't a worthwhile product, or isn't worth the attention of Benchmark Reviews. Instead, it's usually a more focused design that is aimed at a tighter target market. As if the high end PC graphics card market isn't tight enough, ASUS has carved out a niche in their product line called Matrix, and adopted it into their Republic of Gamers. |

"Clearly, the OCZ Throttle eSATA Flash Drive is a speed demon. In USB mode, the drive performed on par with the OCZ Rally 2 Turbo, making it amongst the faster USB based drives we've tested. In eSATA mode, it just leaves everyone behind. In the small file tests, the Throttle was almost 100% faster than it's closest competitor." |

"Following the success of the full tower HAF 932, Cooler Master has now successfully extended their product line to a mid tower with the HAF 922. It has a strong appearance and I think they did a good job on the HAF 922. The open design of the HAF line makes for nice air flow throughout the case. The space also made it easy to work in the case; I have rather large hands and I had no issues working in the HAF 922 at all..." |

“One of the most important (subsystem) components in any PC configuration is hard drive (or storage in general), because its performances have direct impact on performances of whole system. Since all our data is stored on hard drive(s) (storage) it is clear that HDD can be performance bottle neck. Some users solve these problems by creating RAID disk systems, while others are using SSD drives. SSD technology, although offer better performance levels, still have two major problems: limited number of write cycles per cell and high price-per-megabyte. Compromise between those two is high performance hard disk drives like WD VelociRaptor that we got in our test lab…” |

The HAF 922 takes everything that is right with the 932, shrinks it, and puts its own unique flavour into the mix to create a top notch mid tower chassis. The layout and design, while appearing simple, are the perfect recipe for clean airflow and it is an incredibly easy to work with. |

"Zalman GS1000 SE is identical to GS1000, but made entirely in steel instead of being a hybrid aluminum/steel like the original GS1000 - thus being more affordable. The only feature that was removed on GS1000 SE was the hot swap connectors from the three lower hard disk drive bays. All other features are the same: four 5 ¼" bays and six 3 ½" bays for hard disk drives on the front of the case. The covers from the hard disk drive compartments are still made in aluminum. Of course the change in material made a huge impact in weight, which increased from 26.4 Lbs (12 Kg) to 38.4 Lbs (17.4 kg). " |

We've been looking for a small chassis that will accommodate Micro ATX and Mini ATX motherboards, yet offers full functionality for multi GPU setups without sacrificing style. It's been a long search looking for the holy grail of Lan Party chassis but we think we finally found one that we can be happy with, the Thermaltake Lanbox series. The Thermaltake Lanbox offers a stylish chassis, totally modular design, let's you use multi GPU setups if you like, and accepts Micro ATX and Mini ATX form factor boards. With boards like the Asus Rampage Gene hitting the market with enthusiast features and Micro ATX form factor, anyone looking to make a splash at the local Lan Party of anyone who just doesn't want a bulky tower on their desk should look closely at the Thermaltake Lanbox. |

Performance enthusiasts have been keeping notes on SSD technology for a while now, and until recently the price and performance of Solid State Drives were not within reach for casual consumers. SSD products are quickly moving mainstream, and former marketing points like power consumption is now the least impressive of all benefits a Solid State Drive delivers. The real payoff is in the practically instant response time and high-performance throughput. Capacity and stuttering were once the only problems keeping SSDs from replacing HDDs, but now it's just capacity. Quick to solve that problem, Super Talent now offers their 512GB MasterDrive RX SSD which provides capacity matched to performance. |

"Have tape- and DVD-based camcorders gone the way of the VCR and the cassette Walkman? It sure looks that way, as we're pretty hard-pressed to find a super cool model featuring those media types. And how do you beat something like Sony's high-def HDR-XR500V, with a 120GB hard drive, 6-megapixel CMOS imager and GPS map tagging? It's tough. The XR500V is definitely not cheap, at $1,299, and is far from perfect, but we're getting ahead of ourselves. Let's see what state-of-the-art looks like in the consumer camcorder arena." |

We've been running our Phenom 2 reviews on an Asus M4A78T-E board and it's a very capable board driving speeds of up to 4 GHz on selected Phenom 2 X4 CPU's. It's not a particularly fancy board so we decided to look at one of the Asus M4N82 Deluxe SLI boards. The board supports AM3 CPU's but uses DDR2 instead of DDR3. The ability to use DDR2 instead of DDR3 makes the M4N82 Deluxe a good option for value minded enthusiasts. Upgrade the Motherboard and CPU but keep that killer kit of DDR2 and save some money. |

"The Inno3D iChill GTX 275 with Arctic Cooling Accelero XXX cooler performed great in testing, and being factory overclocked definitely helped. The temperatures never got close to reaching 50C, and the fan noise was bearable even at 100% as it was nearly drowned out by the case fans. There is more headroom left in the card for overclocking. The great core cooling and quiet operation are superb features of this card, especially combined with the stream processor power of the GTX 28x series cards. The 55nm design of this core paired with the massive Accelero XXX combined for an extremely cool operating temperature while loaded." |
MSI N260GTX Lightning Black Edition Video Card Review @ Motherboards.org |
Posted by Nathan @ 11:17 PM (EDT) |
As the GTX260 is a pretty balanced video card in the scheme of things against the competition from ATI and other cards in this price range, the MSI card would logically be a faster version of that card. The card easily overclocked to the highest level I've ever seen on a GeForce GTX260 216 core card including the Superclocked and Black Edition cards from other manufacturers. Performance was as to be expected from a faster card in this category. MSI's packaging of a hardware overclocking device was a great addition to the bundle allowing the casual overclocker the option of overclocking with the push of a button. |

If you have frequented our site then you know we love out audio here at overclockershq and today is no exception. 2.1 systems are still alive and strong even thought there are full on 5.1 and 7.1 options for the PC world. Sometimes you just don’t have the room for a full sized surround sound setup. The Edifier E3350 is a sleek simple designed 2.1 system that easily fits in any small home or work office environment. The Edifier M3400 series 2.1 speaker system I reviewed last time was an incredible sound system for the price, I couldn’t get over the sound quality. One thing that I liked was the use of MDF in the design of the M3400 speaker system. The E3350 speaker does not have an MDF design lets see how well it stands up to the competition: |

Besides great design they are equipped with marvelous cooling system and numerous optimizations that resulted in maximum efficiency and minimal heating up. Last time we had a chance to test one of the Matrix graphics cards - NVIDIA GeForce 9800GT, and this time we have an Matrix graphics card based on ATI GPU: ASUS Radeon HD 4870 Matrix…” |

"The card left a very good impression in general. Even if it was sometimes outperformed by competing products, we must admit that HD 4770 is faster than 9800 GT in most cases. This card defeats HD 4850 in those tests, where fillrate plays an important role (HD 4770 offers higher fillrates owing to a very high GPU clock rate)." |

"Intel never intended for the ultra-low-voltage Atom processor to power anything but ultraportable PCs, but its widespread popularity in netbooks has now earned the chip yet another new home in desktop computers as well. Manufacturers like Asus, Averatec and Shuttle have all turned to the netbook parts pile to begin churning out all-in-one PCs that employ the same hardware, and although performance isn't a selling point for this new breed, price is. Consider MSI's Atom-powered AE1900, which sells for just $530. For a full PC with all the accoutrements, including an 18.5-inch monitor, keyboard, and mouse, that's an awfully inviting package in a cash-strapped economy. And, like HP's TouchSmart (which utilizes the beefier Intel Core 2 Duo platform), this model has full touchscreen capabilities. But does all the bean counting add up to a barebones value machine, or a PC crippled by cut corners? Read on to find out." |

With the recent introduction of the ATI HD 4890, Nvidia needed something to directly compete with this card. Their answer was the GTX275, and today we have the Leadtek version of this card. Essentialy all Nvidia partners cards are the same, with the exception of the top sticker, so whats different about the Leadtek version? For one Leadtek does not officialy opperate in North America, which means it will be hard to get your hands on one of these cards without importing it from another country if you live in North America. |

"It's not often that a previously unheard-of company comes along and launches such a wide product line targeted specifically at a certain niche group of computer enthusiasts. But that is just the scenario that we have today with relative new-comer Azza. While some might say that the PC case and power supply market is already saturated with more than enough choices, sometimes a fresh look is exactly what is needed to jump-start a whole new direction in product development." |

As we're currently witnessing, competition for consumer dollars is fierce within respective markets and few can argue that there has never been a better time for those looking to buy. The Radeon HD 4890 is ATI's latest contender and we covered it extensively at launch. Now, overclocked variants of the video card are rolling out with the goal of squeezing every last bit of performance from the RV790 GPU. Stock heatsinks do well to move the heat from the video card at reference settings, but overclocking the core and memory quickly surpasses the threshold in which those heatsinks were designed for. That's where PowerColor's HD 4890 LCS liquid cooled video card comes in. |

"Panasonic's Lumix DMC-FS15 is a very good mid-priced point-and-shoot camera that's particularly strong at taking close-ups. The unit's small, relatively thin, and light enough to carry in a shirt pocket, but it's loaded with features including a 12 megapixel image sensor and a Leica 28-145mm lens. The DMC-FS15 has a few shortcomings, including bothersome digital noise in shots taken at the far end of its ISO range and a zoom lens that tops out at 5X optical, but such limitations are to be expected from a camera with a street price well below $200." |

"The ECS A790GXM-AD3 brings new technology to those who are on a tight budget but do not want to be left in the dust when it comes to their hardware. Competitively priced however, there are a some shortfalls that will not fully give you an edge. In the video benchmarks, the scores were close, but sometimes the ECS board was slower than the MSI board with the same chipset. The scientific benchmarks were almost dead on, however. While the price is still to be determined, ECS has always competitively priced their motherboards, just as they did with the AM2+ version of the 790GX chipset, so this motherboard should be really tempting to those needing to save some money." |

These days with our economy being in shambles, people are spending their hard earned money a bit more wisely. By making small sacrifices on aspects we did not normally do. So it is natural for us to spend less on our computers, especially when it is time for us to upgrade our computers. The question we ask ourselves what do we need, and what do we not need? Where can we, as a consumer cut corners on our computer upgrade's but still give us playability with out sacrificing to much on visual as well as capabilities we will need from our computers? |

Going from a WinMo phone to a Storm is pretty simple once you learn that it's a different universe and get the hang of the tools. I have a single friend with a G1, so I can't be too specific about how it measures up I have used it for about 15 minutes and it feels good, but I much prefer the size and feel of the Storm. |
