SAMSUNG PN64E8000 64 INCH PLASMA SMART TV REVIEW
(11-28-2012)
Samsung's PN64E8000 Plasma Smart TV can be summed up as an easy purchase for the consumer that has the upgraded budget and is smart enough to see that with this one purchase you don't only get an upgradable fantastic livingroom display, but also a trimmed down home theater pc. Add on the additional features like voice and motion control, webcam, future processor upgrades, SMART TV functionality, WIFI, Samsung APPS, Games (Angry Birds) and the difference in price seems to dwindle to an investment that over time will be boiled down to a difference of mere pennies a day.

SAMSUNG BD-D6500 3D BLU-RAY PLAYER REVIEW
(05-18-2012)
The trend is continuing. Blu-ray player competition is getting fierce and we all will be reaping the rewards of cheaper players that will continue to do more with every generation. Samsung's BD-D6500 is a good example of a player that only last year has the features of a model that would have easily been US$100 more.

Corsair Vengeance K60 Review @ XSReviews.co.uk
|
Posted by Nathan @ 3:44 PM (EST) |
We liked the Corsair Vengeance K90 mechanical gaming keyboard, but many gamers won’t want to spend the extra dosh on backlighting and 18 macro keys. For them, the Corsair Vengeance K60 may be a good bet – at £80, it’s a fair amount cheaper than the K90, but offers the same hearty helping of Cherry MX Red mechanical switches and unique aluminium design. Let’s have a look at how this FPS-focused keyboard measures up to its bigger brother.

The Switch 810 is another great looking case from Johnny Hou and the people at NZXT. The Switch 810 is another big case (we have seen many of these lately) that promises to be a water-cooler’s dream and a gamers’ biggest wish. This dream and wish comes not only with a ton of features but at a price that is very affordable. At $170, the Switch 810 can be the next case sitting beside your desk.

Sony VAIO Z Series VPC-Z390X Review @ TechReviewSource.com
|
Posted by Nathan @ 3:44 PM (EST) |
This high-end 13-inch Sony VAIO Z Series ultrathin laptop has a tough sell simply because of its price, but it does have a very lightweight design, good graphics performance and extra long battery life. Performance is very good and the included docking station provides you with an optical drive and discrete AMD graphics capabilities. |
Xigmatek Gigas @ techPowerUp
|
Posted by Nathan @ 3:43 PM (EST) |
Is it a mATX chassis? No! Is it a mid-tower case? No! What is it? It is the Xigmatek Gigas! Too big to be a compact mATX cube, but too compact to be considered a mid-tower. Will the Gigas end up being the Frankenstein of cases, or manage to impress with this new approach? |
AC Ryan Playon!HD Mini 2 Full HD Network Media Streamer Review @ Madshrimps
|
Posted by Nathan @ 3:43 PM (EST) |
The Playon!HD Mini 2 Full HD Network Media Streamer from AC Ryan has a pretty small footprint and is able to stream multimedia content (videos, photos, music) right from our network; in case we have attached to it an USB Flash Drive or external HDD, we can play back the multimedia contents locally. The device can be also connected wirelessly to the network via an accessory sold separately. |
Zotac ZBOX ID80 Plus Mini PC Review @ HotHardware.com
|
Posted by Nathan @ 3:42 PM (EST) |
Zotac is emerging as a major player in the mini PC market and you'll find a boatload of ZBOX units if you visit the company's website. The one we have with us today is the ZBOX ID80 Plus, one of the newer units built around Intel's recently released Atom "Cedar Trail" refresh. It comes equipped with an Intel Atom D2700 processor, 2GB of DDR3-1066 RAM, 320GB hard drive, and an NVIDIA GeForce GT 520M GPU. There's also onboard Wi-Fi, Gigabit LAN, HDMI output, SuperSpeed USB 3.0 support, and an IR receiver with a media remote bundled in. All this and quite a bit more comes packed in a diminutive box that measures 7.40 inches x 7.40 inches x 1.73 inches that you can plop inconspicuously into your A/V rack or attach to the back of your HDTV via its VESA monitor mount...

NZXT Havik 120 CPU Cooler Review @Hi Tech Legion
|
Posted by Nathan @ 3:42 PM (EST) |
The NZXT Havik 120 CPU Cooler comes hot on the heels of its larger brother, the Havik 140. With all new innovations of its own, the Havik 120 looks to offer all of the performance we have come to expect from NZXT in a smaller package, while keeping NZXT’s trademark black and white look. The Havik 120 uses dual 1500rpm 120mm fans in a push/pull configuration to move massive amounts of air through its cooling tower. The tower of the Havik 120, itself, has a unique fin design, with less restriction, to provide better flow through and over the four nickel-plated copper 8mm heatpipes. NZXT uses rubber fan mounting to reduce any vibration noises, while newly designed fans top out at a very quiet 22dBA. Should you want a more silent experience, a Low Noise Adapter is included to drop fan speeds to 1200rpm. The Havik 120 comes with a universal mounting kit and is a direct fit on Intel LGA2011/1155/1156/1366/775 and AMD AM3/AM2 platforms.

AntLion ModMic Review @ OCC
|
Posted by Nathan @ 3:41 PM (EST) |
The only real difference between my Turtle Beach headset and the stick-on AntLion ModMic was the fact that the ModMic didn't have a foam filter of the mic itself. This lead to a little more noise pickup from my mechanical keyboard and breathing. In general, it sounded better than most standard microphones people use on the Internet today. It just picked a little of the extra noises, high frequencies, and key clacking. You could always mod your ModMic and add your own foam from another mic as well. Overall, I was genuinely impressed with the mic — all I wished it had included was a foam filter to keep ambient noises at bay. |
